TRAVEL MISTAKES THAT MIGHT RUIN YOUR VACATION

In as much as travelling might be fun and all that, there are a couple of mistakes that you might make that may end up ruining your vacation on your very first days.

To help you not fall victim to such, here are mistakes clearly highlighted that will guide you and prevent you from making errors that might end up ruining a vacation trip that you sacrificed a lot to go on.

1. Booking/Buying Flights on a No Name's site

They say when the deal is too good, you think twice. You may be scrolling online and realize that there's this site that is selling out plane tickets at a very cheap price, unlike the ones that you are used to.

For sure nothing comes easier without you having to pay the ultimate price; there are many people out there who scam people, so unless it is legit, don't buy it.

Here is how to know a legit company when it comes to buying tickets:

Crooks are great at creating fake apps and sites to rip you off. Fortunately, there are signs to watch for that can help to avoid them.

● Check official resources: The Better Business Bureau can be a great aid in determining whether a business is legit. The agency lists real companies; if you can't find the one you're working with, it's best to run away.

● Online reviews and ratings: Read online reviews and ratings on sites like TripAdvisor, Yelp, or Google. Extremely positive and negative reviews could be bogus. Watch for a balance of reviews and consistent themes.

● Accreditation and licensing: Many legitimate travel agencies are members of recognized industry organizations like the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) or have IATA (International Air Transport Association) accreditation. Check for credentials on their site.

2. Charging Your Phone with a Public Charger

Where's the arm in trying to boost your phone that is nearly dying because of power? Ain't none really, I mean why not? The thing you don't get is using the public chargers in charging your phone is risking everything you have in your phone because then

With just a USB cord, a cybercriminal can install malware or suck data from every device that plugs in to charge.

If you're desperate for juice, you can use a USB connection safely with the right cable. Pack a charge-only cable for your trip. They're cheap, compact, and don't allow for data transfer.

In other words, never Trust other people's things that much; you may never know really, especially those airdrops that be popping up on your screen.

3. Always Turn Off your Airdrop

Just the same as bluetooth this one is also a feature that helps IOS users to receive and send files from their phones all you need to do is accept but in this case don't always accept files from people you don't know, you can always change that in the settings section to be on the safe side.

4. Being too free and comfortable around everyone

Yes, you are on vacation, but that doesn't mean that you let your guard down, especially with strangers that you just met either at the airport or bus station.

There are kind people, yes, but not everyone can be trusted. You see someone walking to you saying they are trying to help you carry your luggage because they see you struggling; don't be too quick to give in; some might be having other totally different intentions.

5. Handing Your Phone to Strangers to Take Your Pictures

This one is actually pretty obvious because it is during this time that someone can do whatever they want with your phone in the name of looking for the perfect angle or rather settings to make the photo come out looking nice.

There are always photographers on site if you badly need that photo, or if you try selfies, the last thing you want is being stressed because someone made away with your phone or planted something in it (virus).
